A Tight Race with One Direction, Zayn for Chart Supremacy

Zayn Malik and his former bandmates One Direction are on a tight race to reach the summit of the Philippines' Top 40 chart but had to settle for 2nd and 3rd places as Justin Bieber continue to hold the #1 position for week ending March 8, 2016.

Justin's "Love Yourself" is now spending it's 9th straight week at no.1. One Direction's "History" on the other hand is a non-mover at no. 2 and Zayn's "PillowTalk" moved up 1 notch from no. 4 to no. 3.

The number 9, is the lucky number of the week. Apart from Justin's Lucky 9 straight week on top, 9 new entries are making an entrance this week. The new entries are led by DJ Snake's "Middle" at no.26;  Rihanna's "Work" at no.27;  Nathan Sykes & Ariana Grande's "Over and over again", no. 29; DNCE's "Cake by the ocean", no. 30, Juris's "Your love", no.31; Rico Blanco's "Videoke Queen", no. 33, Florida's "My house", no. 35, Pacific Noise's "Hashtag", no. 36 and Jason Dy's "Be my lady" at no. 37.

Last week's highest new entry, Daryl Ong's "Stay" is one of the highest gainer this week and is currently the most popular OPM song. The song moved up 10 places up from no. 14 to no. 4.
