Bieber Fever for a 2nd Week on PH Top 40

The Philippines is still infected with a Bieber Fever this week as Canadian Pop star #JustinBieber continue to dominate the top 2 spots in the Philippines Top 40 for week ending January 26, 2015.

This is the 3rd week on top of Bieber's "Love Yourself", who's currently enjoying a huge lead in sales and radio airplays from current #2 "Sorry". The no. 3 and no.4 songs, "Perfect" by One Direction and "Hello" by Adele are non-movers this week. One-word number ones - Sorry, Perfect and Hello are spending their 13th week in the chart this week.

Speaking of One Direction, the boys are also up for another great run this year as they make another history as one of the biggest debuts of 2016. Their new track "History" is appearing in the chart the first time at #14.

PH Top 40 (Jan. 26, 2016)

Justin Bieber Nos. 1 and 2 on Philippine Chart.

As Justin Bieber monopolized the Billboard Hot 100 chart when he dominated the number 1 and 2 positions for it's current chart week, the same fate transpired in the Philippines' Top 40 chart as "Love Yourself" continued it's reign at #1 for a 2nd week and former #1 "Sorry" moved up 1 spot to #2 to rule PH Top 40 for week ending January 19, 2016.

Major shakers this week come from re-entries Little Mix's "Love me like you", Matteo Guidicelli's "Ipapadama na lang", Jireh Lim's "Mangga" and Alessia Cara's "Here".

Taylor Swift is making waves this week as well as "Out Of The Woods" enters the top 10 at #8 and becomes the week's biggest jumper, moving up 17 places from #25 the previous week. Another big jumper for the week is Callalily's "The Bitter Song", which moved up 14 places (34-20) in the current chart week.

PH Top 40 (Jan. 19, 2016)

Justin Bieber grabs PH chart pole position

After topping the charts a month ago with the danceable tune "Sorry", Justin Bieber is back on top this time with his 3rd single, "Love Yourself". This is the track's 7th week in the chart for the week ending January 12, 2016.

Dislodged from the top are the boys from Ireland. One Direction's "Perfect" now sits at #2 after opening 2016 at #1.

There's not much movement in the top 5 this week, as Justin Bieber (Sorry), Adele (Hello) and Charlie Puth (One Call Away), retained their previous week's positions at numbers 3, 4 and 5.

Apart from Justin who has 3 songs in the charts this week, Darren Espanto is also making waves this week as he grabbed the highest debut position of the week (and possibly of the year). His latest "Build A Girl" entered the top 40 at #11.  His other entries are: "Making Moves" (#6) and " I Believe In Me" (#32).

PH Top 40 (Jan. 12, 2016)

One Direction grabs first #1 for 2016

After topping the Philippine charts last year with their first single "Drag Me Down", One Direction is back on top with their latest smash off the "Made In The A.M." album -- "Perfect".

This is indeed a perfect way to open the year as their song moved up one notch from number 2 previous week to #1 for the coverage week December 30, 2015 until January 5, 2016.

Last week's topnotcher Adele drops 3 places and ended her 4th non-consecutive reign in the charts with "Hello".

The week's biggest winner though is Justin Bieber who's currently occupying two songs in the top 3 with "Love Yourself" at #2 and "Sorry" at #3.

His first single, "What do you mean?" is still in the top 20, after 18 weeks in chart. It currently holds the #15 spot.

Alden Richards still has the hottest OPM song of the week, as "Wish I May" continue to log in the top 10. It dropped down 3 places from #4 to #7 this week. The other top charting OPM act this week is Darren Espanto. He owns spot #10 and #17, with "Making Moves" and "I Believe In Me".
